Violetta Hamerska

Active in the hospitality and tourism branches for over 25 years. Hospitality industry expert – especially when it comes to products and services. She has been auditing and rating hotels in Poland for the past 8 years. She publishes articles about the latest trends, gives interviews in the media, and writes columns about how to choose the right hotel for short and long stays. She is changing the hospitality industry in Poland with passion, visiting many establishments. She travels a lot, looking for her own definition of hotel service standards and compares hotels in different countries.

President and founder of the Family Friendly Hotel Campaign, which since 2008 has been certifying hotels that meet defined criteria for stay and equipment for families with children. For creating the Campaign, in 2011, she has been awarded the prestigious award “Hit Mamo To Ja – the best for kids category”. Her achievements in the tourism industry were recognised in 2015 as she has been awarded the Honorary Medal of the Minister of Sport and Tourism Mr Tomasz Jedrzejczak. She cooperates with one of the best hotel schools – Hotelschool The Hague (top 5 in the world rankings of hotel schools).

My projects


The Family Friendly Hotel (HPR) Campaign and Contest are nation-wide efforts to evaluate and promote hotel establishments that create attractive means of relaxing and spending time for families with children of all ages.

In the last 8 years, the Members have conducted audits and certified 589 hotel establishments. The 9th edition (2016/2017) is currently being conducted. The website contains a list of selected hotels, which have been awarded certificates. Kids are VIPs in those establishments.


A personally-created programme of hotel audits evaluates service standards and communication between employees and guests – both verbal and non-verbal as well as micro expressions. Audits are conducted individually per request and allow for the determining of the actual state of service, which serves as a precious source of information in improving the offer and services of a given hotel.


The first one in Europe, the innovative project Dogs at Hotels lets small pet owners choose a hotel, to which they can travel to with their pupil. These are friendly places, tailored to the needs of four-footers. The website also contains advice from experts regarding travelling with animals and training tips. It’s a real compendium of knowledge for travelling dog and cat owners.

Hot Communication

Hot Communication is an educational project addressed to hotel owners, directors and potential hotel investors, which is realised in cooperation with Hotelschool The Hague (top 5 in the worldwide ranking of hotel schools). The best practitioners from the industry and academic workers in the field of hospitality cooperate as part of the project. Additionally, personal training programmes are organised, consisting of verbal and non-verbal communication – body language, voice emission and micro expressions.

Private life

Violetta is a mother of two children (who have reached adulthood), a passionate traveller and keen jazz listener, literature lover and foodie. She believes that one should “Live and let others live… in any way they desire”. Her biggest hidden weakness is her assertive love towards a white cat-like dog, called Freddy, who travels with her all around Poland discovering the world of hotels.

She is socially conscious and does not stand idly by the needs of others. That is part of the reason why for several years she co-organised charity events for children from foster homes in frames of the activity of the Rotary Club in Warsaw’s Wilanow district. She is currently a member of the Policy Council of the Women’s Congress – she is involved in the activity of the team set on creating equal opportunities for women on boards and councils of enterprises.

She loves her work, which is also her passion and specialisation, she enthusiastically engages in projects and does not even notice that she is working.
